The galliard was widely danced through Europe in the sixteenth century. It has been described by authors such as Arbeau, Caruso and Negri. The galliard is an energetic dance that was choreographed or improvised. Alessandra d'Arezzo and I choreographed this galliard together. Galliards are performed to music in triple time, and a style of music was developed around them.
